The average import price for lubricating preparations not for the treatment of materials stood at $5,302 per ton in October 2023, picking up by 5.1% against the previous month. Over the last twelve months, it increased at an average monthly rate of +1.6%. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in February 2023 when the average import price increased by 17% m-o-m. The import price peaked in October 2023.
Prices varied noticeably by the country of origin: the country with the highest price was the UK ($9,356 per ton), while the price for China ($2,631 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From October 2022 to October 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Germany (+3.5%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.

In 2022, the average export price for lubricating preparations not for the treatment of materials amounted to $3,467 per ton, growing by 24% against the previous year. In general, the export price, however, saw a pronounced decrease. Over the period under review, the average export prices attained the maximum at $4,940 per ton in 2013; however, from 2014 to 2022, the export prices remained at a lower figure.
There were significant differences in the average prices for the major overseas markets. In 2022, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Iran ($9,796 per ton), while the average price for exports to Romania ($2,100 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Ghana (+16.1%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.
Imports of Lubricating Preparations Not for the Treatment of Materials in Ukraine
In 2022, purchases abroad of lubricating preparations not for the treatment of materials decreased by -36.2% to 24K tons for the first time since 2018, thus ending a three-year rising trend. Overall, imports showed a abrupt slump. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2021 with an increase of 17%. As a result, imports attained the peak of 37K tons, and then dropped sharply in the following year.

Overall, exports recorded a noticeable setback. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2020 when exports increased by 70% against the previous year.
In value terms, exports of lubricating preparations not for the treatment of materials declined sharply to $3.8M in 2022. Over the period under review, exports, however, posted a perceptible expansion. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2020 with an increase of 62%.
