The average import price for lac; natural gums, resins, gum-resins and balsamses stood at $4,128 per ton in 2022, remaining constant against the previous year. In general, the import price showed a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2013 an increase of 18% against the previous year. As a result, import price reached the peak level of $4,716 per ton. From 2014 to 2022, the average import prices remained at a lower figure.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In 2022, amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Germany ($7,529 per ton), while the price for Chad ($1,340 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Sudan (+3.3%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced mixed trend patterns.

Over the period under review, the export price recorded a perceptible setback. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 an increase of 3.4%. The export price peaked at $5,219 per ton in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2022, the export prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.
There were significant differences in the average prices for the major overseas markets. In 2022, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was the UK ($7,076 per ton), while the average price for exports to Honduras ($1,618 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Costa Rica (+5.6%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.
