In October 2023, the average export price for jerseys, pullovers, cardigans, waistcoats and similar articles; of cotton, knitted or crocheted amounted to $22.1 per unit, almost unchanged from the previous month. Over the last twelve-month period, it increased at an average monthly rate of +1.1%. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in April 2023 an increase of 25% m-o-m. As a result, the export price reached the peak level of $23.7 per unit. From May 2023 to October 2023, the the average export prices remained at a somewhat lower figure.
Prices varied noticeably by the country of destination: the country with the highest price was Italy ($43.2 per unit), while the average price for exports to Spain ($13.2 per unit) was amongst the lowest.
From October 2022 to October 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Belgium (+3.7%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.

In October 2023, the average import price for jerseys, pullovers, cardigans, waistcoats and similar articles; of cotton, knitted or crocheted amounted to $9.3 per unit, leveling off at the previous month. Overall, the import price, however, recorded a relatively flat trend pattern. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in January 2023 an increase of 11% against the previous month. The import price peaked at $11.7 per unit in February 2023; however, from March 2023 to October 2023, import prices remained at a lower figure.
Prices varied noticeably by the country of origin: the country with the highest price was Belgium ($20.3 per unit), while the price for Pakistan ($4.9 per unit) was amongst the lowest.
From October 2022 to October 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by the Netherlands (+3.3%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.

In 2022, the amount of jerseys, pullovers, cardigans, waistcoats and similar articles; of cotton, knitted or crocheted exported from Portugal contracted to 21M units, waning by -12.8% on the previous year's figure. The total export volume increased at an average annual rate of +1.1% over the period from 2019 to 2022; the trend pattern remained consistent, with somewhat noticeable fluctuations throughout the analyzed period. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2021 when exports increased by 24% against the previous year. As a result, the exports attained the peak of 24M units, and then declined in the following year.
In value terms, exports of jerseys, pullovers, cardigans, waistcoats and similar articles; of cotton, knitted or crocheted fell to $421M in 2022. Overall, total exports indicated a strong expansion from 2019 to 2022: its value increased at an average annual rate of +12.5% over the last three years. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, exports increased by +43.0% against 2020 indices. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2021 when exports increased by 48%. As a result, the exports attained the peak of $434M, and then shrank in the following year.
