In 2022, the average import price for inorganic acids; other than hydrogen fluorides amounted to $4,388 per ton, which is down by -2.2% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the import price, however, continues to indicate perceptible growth. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2020 when the average import price increased by 102%. The import price peaked at $5,387 per ton in 2015; however, from 2016 to 2022, import prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In 2022, amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was the UK ($11,402 per ton), while the price for South Africa ($2,221 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Portugal (+6.7%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced a decline.
