The average inner tubes, of rubber import price stood at $4.3 per unit in December 2021, with a decrease of -3% against the previous month. Over the last twelve-month period, it increased at an average monthly rate of +1.2%. The growth pace was the most rapid in January 2021 when the average import price increased by 18% m-o-m. Over the period under review, average import prices attained the peak figure at $4.9 per unit in March 2021; however, from April 2021 to December 2021, import prices remained at a lower figure.
Average prices varied noticeably amongst the major supplying countries. In December 2021, the countries with the highest prices were Vietnam ($4.9 per unit) and Thailand ($4.6 per unit), while the price for South Korea ($4.0 per unit) and Singapore ($4.2 per unit) were amongst the lowest.
From December 2020 to December 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Vietnam (+3.0%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.
