The average import price for hop cones; neither ground nor powdered nor in the form of pelletses stood at $7,353 per ton in 2022, declining by -5.7% against the previous year. Overall, the import price recorded a noticeable curtailment. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2018 when the average import price increased by 32%. The import price peaked at $11,091 per ton in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2022, import prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In 2022, amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Hong Kong SAR ($70,500 per ton), while the price for the United States ($6,133 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Hong Kong SAR (+20.8%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced a decline.

In 2022, after three years of growth, there was significant decline in purchases abroad of hop cones; neither ground nor powdered nor in the form of pelletses, when their volume decreased by -33.5% to 2.5 tons. In general, imports, however, enjoyed a significant expansion. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2021 when imports increased by 203%. As a result, imports reached the peak of 3.8 tons, and then declined remarkably in the following year.
In value terms, imports of hop cones; neither ground nor powdered nor in the form of pelletses dropped rapidly to $18K in 2022. Overall, imports, however, recorded a significant increase. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2021 when imports increased by 293%. As a result, imports reached the peak of $29K, and then fell remarkably in the following year.
