Price for Grapes; Fresh or Dried in the United States (CIF) - 2023
In October 2023, the average grapes; fresh or dried import price amounted to $2,073 per ton, picking up by 1.9% against the previous month. Over the period under review, the import price, however, saw a mild shrinkage. The growth pace was the most rapid in March 2023 when the average import price increased by 32% against the previous month. The import price peaked at $2,585 per ton in December 2022; however, from January 2023 to October 2023, import prices failed to regain momentum.
Average prices varied somewhat amongst the major supplying countries. In October 2023, the highest price was recorded for prices from South Africa ($2,155 per ton) and Chile ($2,057 per ton), while the price for Mexico ($1,441 per ton) and Argentina ($1,629 per ton) were amongst the lowest.
From October 2022 to October 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Peru (+19.5%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.

In October 2023, the average grapes; fresh or dried export price amounted to $3,508 per ton, growing by 10% against the previous month. Over the last twelve months, it increased at an average monthly rate of +2.6%. The growth pace was the most rapid in January 2023 when the average export price increased by 26% month-to-month. Over the period under review, the average export prices hit record highs at $3,984 per ton in May 2023; however, from June 2023 to October 2023, the export prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.
There were significant differences in the average prices for the major foreign markets. In October 2023, the country with the highest price was Vietnam ($4,803 per ton), while the average price for exports to the Philippines ($3,039 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From October 2022 to October 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Hong Kong SAR (+3.7%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.

In 2022, the amount of grapes; fresh or drieds imported into the United States surged to 673K tons, with an increase of 21% on 2021. In general, imports, however, showed a abrupt slump.
