Price for Grapes; Fresh or Dried in Poland (CIF) - 2023

The average grapes; fresh or dried import price stood at $1,757 per ton in August 2023, falling by -18.6% against the previous month. In general, the import price, however, saw a temperate expansion. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in December 2022 when the average import price increased by 63% month-to-month. The import price peaked at $2,525 per ton in February 2023; however, from March 2023 to August 2023, import prices remained at a lower figure.

Prices varied noticeably by the country of origin: the country with the highest price was the Netherlands ($2,923 per ton), while the price for Greece ($1,142 per ton) was amongst the lowest.

From August 2022 to August 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Italy (+3.6%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.

In August 2023, the average grapes; fresh or dried export price amounted to $2,348 per ton, with an increase of 14% against the previous month. Over the last twelve months, it increased at an average monthly rate of +3.4%. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in October 2022 when the average export price increased by 37% month-to-month. Over the period under review, the average export prices reached the maximum in August 2023.

Prices varied noticeably by the country of destination: the country with the highest price was the Netherlands ($3,871 per ton), while the average price for exports to Hungary ($1,325 per ton) was amongst the lowest.

From August 2022 to August 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Ukraine (+6.8%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.

Imports of Grapes; Fresh or Dried in Poland

In 2022, after three years of growth, there was significant decline in overseas purchases of grapes; fresh or drieds, when their volume decreased by -6.6% to 140K tons. The total import volume increased at an average annual rate of +1.8% over the period from 2019 to 2022; the trend pattern remained relatively stable, with somewhat noticeable fluctuations being observed in certain years. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2020 with an increase of 8.2%.

In value terms, grapes; fresh or dried imports reduced to $230M in 2022. The total import value increased at an average annual rate of +2.2% over the period from 2019 to 2022; the trend pattern remained consistent, with only minor fluctuations being observed in certain years. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2020 when imports increased by 9.6%.
