The average grapes; fresh or dried import price stood at $1,923 per ton in September 2023, shrinking by -8.1% against the previous month. In general, import price indicated measured growth from September 2022 to September 2023: its price increased at an average monthly rate of +2.2% over the last twelve months. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on September 2023 figures, grapes; fresh or dried import price decreased by -22.1% against April 2023 indices. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in December 2022 when the average import price increased by 48% m-o-m. The import price peaked at $2,867 per ton in February 2023; however, from March 2023 to September 2023, import prices failed to regain momentum.

Average prices varied somewhat amongst the major supplying countries. In September 2023, the countries with the highest prices were the Netherlands ($2,491 per ton) and Italy ($2,182 per ton), while the price for Latvia ($1,692 per ton) and Lithuania ($1,787 per ton) were amongst the lowest.

From September 2022 to September 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Italy (+4.0%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.

The average grapes; fresh or dried export price stood at $1,264 per ton in 2022, which is down by -69.2% against the previous year. Overall, the export price showed a deep slump. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2018 when the average export price increased by 38% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the average export prices hit record highs at $4,102 per ton in 2021, and then contracted rapidly in the following year.

There were significant differences in the average prices for the major foreign markets. In 2022, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Norway ($4,376 per ton), while the average price for exports to Kazakhstan ($1,204 per ton) was amongst the lowest.

From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Russia (+8.1%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.

Imports of Grapes; Fresh or Dried in Estonia

In 2022, imports of grapes; fresh or drieds into Estonia declined slightly to 6.3K tons, reducing by -2% compared with 2021.
