In January 2022, the average grapes; fresh or dried import price amounted to $1,996 per ton, picking up by 3% against the previous month. In general, the import price, however, recorded a relatively flat trend pattern. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in July 2021 when the average import price increased by 38% against the previous month. Over the period under review, average import prices hit record highs at $2,511 per ton in August 2021; however, from September 2021 to January 2022, import prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.

As there is only one major supplying country, the average price level is determined by prices for Chile.

From January 2021 to January 2022, the rate of growth in terms of prices for the United States amounted to +10.0% per month.

In 2022, the average grapes; fresh or dried export price amounted to $2,282 per ton, approximately reflecting the previous year. Over the period under review, the export price, however, saw a noticeable setback. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2013 an increase of 17%. As a result, the export price attained the peak level of $3,556 per ton. From 2014 to 2022, the average export prices remained at a lower figure.

Prices varied noticeably by country of destination: amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was New Zealand ($3,151 per ton), while the average price for exports to the Netherlands ($2,023 per ton) was amongst the lowest.

From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Russia (+6.0%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced mixed trend patterns.

In 2022, imports of grapes; fresh or drieds into Ecuador expanded notably to 14K tons, growing by 5.7% compared with the previous year.
