The average export price for granules and powders, of pig iron, spiegeleisen, iron or steels stood at $2,098 per ton in August 2023, with an increase of 2.4% against the previous month. Over the period under review, the export price saw a relatively flat trend pattern. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in April 2023 an increase of 7.7% against the previous month. As a result, the export price attained the peak level of $2,171 per ton. From May 2023 to August 2023, the the average export prices remained at a somewhat lower figure.

There were significant differences in the average prices for the major foreign markets. In August 2023, the country with the highest price was Thailand ($3,746 per ton), while the average price for exports to Turkey ($909 per ton) was amongst the lowest.

From December 2022 to August 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to the United States (+2.6%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.
