In 2022, the average fruit, edible; apples, dried export price amounted to $4,560 per ton, declining by -3.8% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the export price, however, showed a resilient expansion. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 an increase of 63% against the previous year. As a result, the export price reached the peak level of $4,739 per ton, and then fell modestly in the following year.
There were significant differences in the average prices for the major external markets. In 2022, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was the UK ($7,100 per ton), while the average price for exports to Hungary ($1,451 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Germany (+10.1%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.

In July 2023, the average fruit, edible; apples, dried import price amounted to $5,263 per ton, with a decrease of -1.6% against the previous month. Overall, the import price, however, continues to indicate strong growth. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in March 2023 an increase of 120% against the previous month. As a result, import price reached the peak level of $6,898 per ton. From April 2023 to July 2023, the average import prices remained at a lower figure.
Average prices varied noticeably amongst the major supplying countries. In July 2023, the country with the highest price was Germany ($4,979 per ton), while the price for Iran stood at $4,537 per ton.
From July 2022 to July 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Ukraine (+77.9%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.
