The average export price for frozen raspberries, blackberries, mulberries, loganberries, black-, white- or red currants and gooseberrieses stood at $4,098 per ton in January 2024, reducing by -5.3% against the previous month. Over the period from October 2023 to January 2024, it increased at an average monthly rate of +5.0%. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in December 2023 an increase of 25% month-to-month. As a result, the export price reached the peak level of $4,329 per ton, and then declined in the following month.
There were significant differences in the average prices for the major export markets. In January 2024, the country with the highest price was Australia ($6,478 per ton), while the average price for exports to Italy ($1,826 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From October 2023 to January 2024, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Switzerland (+43.7%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.

The average import price for frozen raspberries, blackberries, mulberries, loganberries, black-, white- or red currants and gooseberrieses stood at $4,498 per ton in January 2024, declining by -2.3% against the previous month. Overall, the import price, however, continues to indicate a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in December 2023 when the average import price increased by 44% month-to-month. As a result, import price reached the peak level of $4,603 per ton, and then dropped modestly in the following month.
Prices varied noticeably by the country of origin: the country with the highest price was Australia ($7,272 per ton), while the price for China totaled $2,073 per ton.
From January 2023 to January 2024, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by the United States (+548.3%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced mixed trend patterns.

For the third consecutive year, Chile recorded decline in overseas shipments of frozen raspberries, blackberries, mulberries, loganberries, black-, white- or red currants and gooseberrieses, which decreased by -4.6% to 30K tons in 2022. Overall, exports showed a abrupt decline.

Over the period under review, total exports indicated a prominent expansion from 2019 to 2022: its value increased at an average annual rate of +12.8% over the last three years. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, exports increased by +46.4% against 2020 indices. As a result, the exports attained the peak and are likely to continue growth in the immediate term.

Global frozen fruit imports continue to grow in physical terms, expanding twofold over the past decade. In 2020, global imports rose by +3% y-o-y to 2.7M tons. In value terms, imports reached $5.8B last year. The U.S. and Germany remain the largest importers of frozen fruits worldwide, with a combined 34%-share of the global figure.
