In July 2023, the average export price for fresh bread and miscellaneous bakery amounted to $2,755 per ton, almost unchanged from the previous month. Over the last twelve-month period, it increased at an average monthly rate of +1.2%. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in November 2022 when the average export price increased by 7.2% month-to-month. Over the period under review, the average export prices hit record highs at $2,838 per ton in April 2023; afterwards, it flattened through to July 2023.
Prices varied noticeably by the country of destination: the country with the highest price was the United States ($4,407 per ton), while the average price for exports to Israel ($1,995 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From July 2022 to July 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Russia (+3.5%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.

In July 2023, the average import price for fresh bread and miscellaneous bakery amounted to $4,607 per ton, increasing by 5.1% against the previous month. Over the period under review, the import price saw a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in August 2022 when the average import price increased by 39% against the previous month. The import price peaked at $6,198 per ton in November 2022; however, from December 2022 to July 2023, import prices failed to regain momentum.
