The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2017 when exports increased by 51% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the exports attained the maximum in 2021 and are expected to retain growth in years to come.

In value terms, crispbread, rusk and toasted bread exports rose to $X in 2021. Over the period under review, exports enjoyed a prominent expansion. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2013 with an increase of 32%. Over the period under review, the exports hit record highs in 2021 and are expected to retain growth in years to come.

Germany (X tons) was the main destination for crispbread, rusk and toasted bread exports from Turkey, with a 38% share of total exports. From 2012 to 2021, the average annual rate of growth in terms of value to Germany stood at +26.8%. Exports to the other major destinations recorded the following average annual rates of exports growth: Iraq (+9.0% per year) and the United States (+14.1% per year).

For the third year in a row, Turkey recorded growth in overseas purchases of crispbread, rusks and toasted bread, which increased by 13% to X tons in 2021. In general, imports posted a perceptible increase. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2020 with an increase of 85% against the previous year. Over the period under review, imports hit record highs in 2021 and are expected to retain growth in the immediate term.

In value terms, crispbread, rusk and toasted bread imports skyrocketed to $X in 2021. Over the period under review, imports recorded a temperate expansion.
