Price for Fluorine, Chlorine, Bromine and Iodine in India (CIF) - 2023
In July 2023, the average import price for fluorine, chlorine, bromine and iodines amounted to $23,489 per ton, with an increase of 29% against the previous month. In general, the import price showed a relatively flat trend pattern. The growth pace was the most rapid in August 2022 an increase of 41% against the previous month. As a result, import price reached the peak level of $33,112 per ton. From September 2022 to July 2023, the average import prices failed to regain momentum.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In July 2023, the country with the highest price was Japan ($70,770 per ton), while the price for China ($3,120 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From July 2022 to July 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Japan (+2.3%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced mixed trend patterns.

The average export price for fluorine, chlorine, bromine and iodines stood at $3,386 per ton in 2022, rising by 1.9% against the previous year. In general, export price indicated strong growth from 2012 to 2022: its price increased at an average annual rate of +5.2% over the last decade. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, fluorine, chlorine, bromine and iodine export price increased by +147.8% against 2015 indices. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2017 an increase of 37%. The export price peaked in 2022 and is expected to retain growth in the near future.
Prices varied noticeably by country of destination: amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Malaysia ($8,687 per ton), while the average price for exports to the United Arab Emirates ($553 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Kenya (+19.0%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.

As a result, imports attained the peak and are likely to continue growth in the immediate term.
