The average fish meals and pellet export price stood at $6,136 per ton in August 2023, standing approximately at the previous month. Overall, the export price showed a deep setback. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in January 2023 an increase of 87% against the previous month. The export price peaked at $18,571 per ton in June 2023; however, from July 2023 to August 2023, the export prices remained at a lower figure.
There were significant differences in the average prices for the major external markets. In August 2023, the country with the highest price was Japan ($7,178 per ton), while the average price for exports to Canada totaled $2,638 per ton.
From August 2022 to August 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Estonia (+0.0%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced mixed trend patterns.
