The average import price for fish fillets; frozen, flat fish (pleuronectidae, bothidae, cynoglossidae, soleidae, scophthalmidae and citharidae)s stood at $4,662 per ton in October 2023, declining by -4.4% against the previous month. Overall, the import price showed a relatively flat trend pattern. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in January 2023 when the average import price increased by 31% m-o-m. As a result, import price reached the peak level of $6,250 per ton. From February 2023 to October 2023, the average import prices remained at a somewhat lower figure.
Prices varied noticeably by the country of origin: the country with the highest price was France ($10,744 per ton), while the price for China ($3,990 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From October 2022 to October 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Senegal (+2.2%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced mixed trend patterns.

The average export price for fish fillets; frozen, flat fish (pleuronectidae, bothidae, cynoglossidae, soleidae, scophthalmidae and citharidae)s stood at $7,744 per ton in October 2023, growing by 11% against the previous month. In general, the export price, however, recorded a relatively flat trend pattern. The growth pace was the most rapid in December 2022 an increase of 42% m-o-m. As a result, the export price attained the peak level of $9,890 per ton. From January 2023 to October 2023, the the average export prices failed to regain momentum.
Prices varied noticeably by the country of destination: the country with the highest price was the United States ($16,016 per ton), while the average price for exports to Portugal ($3,712 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From October 2022 to October 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to the Netherlands (+2.7%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.
