The average import price for fibres; waste (including noils, yarn waste and garnetted stock), of artificial fibreses stood at $1,046 per ton in 2022, increasing by 43% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the import price posted a resilient expansion. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2021 an increase of 72% against the previous year. Over the period under review, average import prices reached the peak figure in 2022 and is likely to see gradual growth in the immediate term.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In 2022, amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was China ($8,651 per ton), while the price for Slovakia amounted to $379 per ton.
