In August 2023, the average export price for ferrous waste and scrap; remelting scrap ingots of iron or steels amounted to $440 per ton, which is down by -2.4% against the previous month. In general, the export price, however, saw a relatively flat trend pattern. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in April 2023 an increase of 11% against the previous month. As a result, the export price attained the peak level of $528 per ton. From May 2023 to August 2023, the the average export prices remained at a lower figure.

There were significant differences in the average prices for the major foreign markets. In August 2023, the country with the highest price was Norway ($8,022 per ton), while the average price for exports to Turkey ($374 per ton) was amongst the lowest.

From October 2022 to August 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Norway (+39.1%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.
