The average export price for ferrous waste and scrap; of stainless steels stood at $1,216 per ton in January 2024, which is down by -5% against the previous month. Overall, the export price showed a perceptible shrinkage. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in September 2023 an increase of 47% against the previous month. As a result, the export price reached the peak level of $1,716 per ton. From October 2023 to January 2024, the the average export prices failed to regain momentum.

There were significant differences in the average prices for the major export markets. In January 2024, the country with the highest price was India ($2,224 per ton), while the average price for exports to Belgium ($327 per ton) was amongst the lowest.

From February 2023 to January 2024, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Denmark (+2.7%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.
