Price for Electrical Capacitors; Fixed, Aluminium Electrolytic in Ukraine (CIF) - 2023

The average import price for electrical capacitors; fixed, aluminium electrolytics stood at $139 per thousand units in August 2023, which is down by -6.3% against the previous month. Overall, the import price, however, saw a relatively flat trend pattern. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in November 2022 when the average import price increased by 59% month-to-month. As a result, import price reached the peak level of $0.2 per unit. From December 2022 to August 2023, the average import prices remained at a somewhat lower figure.

There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In August 2023, the country with the highest price was Japan ($250 per thousand units), while the price for China ($128 per thousand units) was amongst the lowest.

From August 2022 to August 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by South Korea (+3.7%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.

Imports of Electrical Capacitors; Fixed, Aluminium Electrolytic in Ukraine

After three years of growth, overseas purchases of electrical capacitors; fixed, aluminium electrolytics decreased by -47.5% to 1.3K units in 2022. In general, imports, however, recorded a prominent increase. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 when imports increased by 112%. As a result, imports attained the peak of 2.4K units, and then fell dramatically in the following year.

In value terms, electrical capacitors; fixed, aluminium electrolytic imports declined markedly to $9.4M in 2022. Over the period under review, total imports indicated a prominent increase from 2019 to 2022: its value increased at an average annual rate of +12.6% over the last three years. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, imports increased by +42.7% against 2019 indices. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 when imports increased by 43% against the previous year. As a result, imports attained the peak of $12M, and then fell sharply in the following year.
