Price for Duck and Goose Meat in the Netherlands (FOB) - 2023
The average duck and goose meat export price stood at $4,250 per ton in August 2023, shrinking by -5.7% against the previous month. Over the last twelve months, it increased at an average monthly rate of +1.5%. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in November 2022 an increase of 15% m-o-m. The export price peaked at $4,508 per ton in July 2023, and then shrank in the following month.
There were significant differences in the average prices for the major foreign markets. In August 2023, the country with the highest price was Norway ($6,298 per ton), while the average price for exports to Poland ($2,665 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From August 2022 to August 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Kosovo (+2.6%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.

In July 2023, the average duck and goose meat import price amounted to $7,828 per ton, declining by -1.6% against the previous month. Overall, import price indicated a measured expansion from July 2022 to July 2023: its price increased at an average monthly rate of +4.3% over the last twelve months. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on July 2023 figures, duck and goose meat import price increased by +35.8% against April 2023 indices. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in October 2022 an increase of 82% m-o-m. Over the period under review, average import prices hit record highs at $8,507 per ton in December 2022; however, from January 2023 to July 2023, import prices failed to regain momentum.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In July 2023, the country with the highest price was France ($14,359 per ton), while the price for Ireland ($3,706 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From July 2022 to July 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Bulgaria (+19.5%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.
Exports of Duck and Goose Meat in the Netherlands
In 2022, the amount of duck and goose meat exported from the Netherlands totaled 21K tons, growing by 1.8% compared with 2021.
