Price for Dried or Salted Fish in Singapore (CIF) - 2022
The average dried or salted fish import price stood at $7,266 per ton in September 2022, with a decrease of -11.6% against the previous month. In general, import price indicated a measured expansion from September 2021 to September 2022: its price increased at an average monthly rate of +2.4% over the last twelve-month period. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on September 2022 figures, dried or salted fish import price decreased by -11.6% against August 2022 indices. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in January 2022 an increase of 18% against the previous month. Over the period under review, average import prices hit record highs at $9,282 per ton in May 2022; however, from June 2022 to September 2022, import prices failed to regain momentum.
Prices varied noticeably by the country of origin: the country with the highest price was Japan ($22,242 per ton), while the price for Myanmar ($1,337 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From September 2021 to September 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Japan (+6.1%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.

The average dried or salted fish export price stood at $38,155 per ton in 2022, picking up by 131% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the export price saw a significant increase. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2020 an increase of 422% against the previous year. The export price peaked in 2022 and is expected to retain growth in the near future.
Prices varied noticeably by country of destination: amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Hong Kong SAR ($131,875 per ton), while the average price for exports to Indonesia ($1,791 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
