In January 2024, the average import price for cycles; parts, pedals and crank-gear, and parts thereoves amounted to $3,664 per ton, rising by 6.6% against the previous month. In general, the import price, however, recorded a perceptible shrinkage. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in July 2023 an increase of 81% against the previous month. The import price peaked at $6,148 per ton in February 2023; however, from March 2023 to January 2024, import prices remained at a lower figure.

There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In January 2024, the country with the highest price was Malaysia ($32,388 per ton), while the price for China ($2,088 per ton) was amongst the lowest.

From January 2023 to January 2024, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Malaysia (+1.1%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced mixed trend patterns.

The average export price for cycles; parts, pedals and crank-gear, and parts thereoves stood at $5,356 per ton in 2022, increasing by 41% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the export price, however, recorded a noticeable contraction. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2018 when the average export price increased by 147%. The export price peaked at $9,701 per ton in 2013; however, from 2014 to 2022, the export prices failed to regain momentum.

There were significant differences in the average prices for the major export markets. In 2022, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was the United Arab Emirates ($74,179 per ton), while the average price for exports to North Macedonia ($1,351 per ton) was amongst the lowest.

From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to the United Arab Emirates (+24.4%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.

Imports of Cycles; Parts, Pedals and Crank-Gear, and Parts Thereof in Turkey

After three years of growth, overseas purchases of cycles; parts, pedals and crank-gear, and parts thereoves decreased by -35.6% to 2.9K tons in 2022. In general, imports, however, saw a significant expansion. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 with an increase of 175% against the previous year. As a result, imports reached the peak of 4.4K tons, and then contracted notably in the following year.

Over the period under review, exports enjoyed a significant expansion. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2020 when exports increased by 249% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the exports of hit record highs in 2022 and are expected to retain growth in years to come.

In value terms, exports of cycles; parts, pedals and crank-gear, and parts thereoves skyrocketed to $913K in 2022. Overall, exports showed a significant expansion. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2020 with an increase of 286%. Over the period under review, the exports of reached the maximum in 2022 and are likely to see gradual growth in the immediate term.
