In October 2023, the average import price for crustaceans, molluscs and other aquatic invertebrates, prepared or preserveds amounted to $10,721 per ton, declining by -6.7% against the previous month. Over the period under review, the import price, however, saw a relatively flat trend pattern. The growth pace was the most rapid in June 2023 when the average import price increased by 16% month-to-month. As a result, import price reached the peak level of $12,390 per ton. From July 2023 to October 2023, the average import prices remained at a lower figure.

As there is only one major supplying country, the average price level is determined by prices for Norway.

From October 2022 to October 2023, the rate of growth in terms of prices for Germany amounted to +3.4% per month.

The average export price for crustaceans, molluscs and other aquatic invertebrates, prepared or preserveds stood at $17,574 per ton in 2022, rising by 120% against the previous year. Overall, the export price, however, recorded a perceptible downturn. Over the period under review, the average export prices reached the peak figure at $44,135 per ton in 2017; however, from 2018 to 2022, the export prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.

There were significant differences in the average prices for the major export markets. In 2022, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Russia ($18,432 per ton), while the average price for exports to Norway ($8,450 per ton) was amongst the lowest.

From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Lithuania (+2.1%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced mixed trend patterns.
