The average import price for crustacean preparations; prepared or preserved crustaceans (excluding crab, shrimps, prawns and lobster)s stood at $12,301 per ton in November 2023, shrinking by -1.6% against the previous month. In general, the import price recorded a mild descent. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in July 2023 an increase of 23% against the previous month. The import price peaked at $16,891 per ton in December 2022; however, from January 2023 to November 2023, import prices failed to regain momentum.

There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In November 2023, the country with the highest price was China ($12,710 per ton), while the price for Spain stood at $7,972 per ton.

From November 2022 to November 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Spain (+1.3%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced a decline.

In November 2023, the average export price for crustacean preparations; prepared or preserved crustaceans (excluding crab, shrimps, prawns and lobster)s amounted to $17,074 per ton, surging by 4.1% against the previous month. Over the period under review, the export price saw a relatively flat trend pattern. The growth pace was the most rapid in February 2023 an increase of 7.9% against the previous month. Over the period under review, the average export prices reached the maximum at $19,543 per ton in May 2023; however, from June 2023 to November 2023, the export prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.

Average prices varied somewhat for the major overseas markets. In November 2023, the highest price was recorded for prices to the Netherlands ($24,501 per ton) and Switzerland ($19,229 per ton), while the average price for exports to Norway ($16,467 per ton) and Germany ($16,843 per ton) were amongst the lowest.

From November 2022 to November 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to France (+3.1%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.
