In October 2023, the average import price for crustacean preparations; prepared or preserved crustaceans (excluding crab, shrimps, prawns and lobster)s amounted to $12,637 per ton, shrinking by -13.9% against the previous month. Over the period under review, the import price showed a relatively flat trend pattern. The growth pace was the most rapid in April 2023 when the average import price increased by 12% against the previous month. Over the period under review, average import prices hit record highs at $15,772 per ton in December 2022; however, from January 2023 to October 2023, import prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.

There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In October 2023, the country with the highest price was Belgium ($34,406 per ton), while the price for Italy ($7,044 per ton) was amongst the lowest.

From October 2022 to October 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Belgium (+31.1%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.

Over the period under review, the export price, however, continues to indicate a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2017 when the average export price increased by 41%. As a result, the export price attained the peak level of $20,450 per ton. From 2018 to 2022, the average export prices remained at a somewhat lower figure.

Average prices varied somewhat for the major foreign markets. From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to the Czech Republic (+21.6%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.
