Price for Copper; Waste and Scrap in Uganda (FOB) - 2022

The average copper; waste and scrap export price stood at $1,428 per ton in 2022, falling by -5.3% against the previous year. Overall, the export price saw a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2018 an increase of 41%. As a result, the export price attained the peak level of $6,083 per ton. From 2019 to 2022, the average export prices failed to regain momentum.

Prices varied noticeably by country of destination: amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was France ($1,505 per ton), while the average price for exports to Tanzania ($849 per ton) was amongst the lowest.

From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to France (+1.1%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced a decline.
