The average import price for spices; cardamoms, crushed or ground stood at $17,683 per ton in June 2023, shrinking by -23.3% against the previous month. In general, the import price recorded a relatively flat trend pattern. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in March 2023 when the average import price increased by 177% m-o-m. The import price peaked at $66,004 per ton in December 2022; however, from January 2023 to June 2023, import prices failed to regain momentum.

Prices varied noticeably by the country of origin: the country with the highest price was Austria ($62,358 per ton), while the price for the United Arab Emirates ($9,621 per ton) was amongst the lowest.

From June 2022 to June 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by France (+2.5%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.

From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to France (+11.9%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced a decline.
