The average import price for compounded rubber, unvulcanised, in primary forms or in plates, sheets or strips stood at $3,615 per ton in December 2023, which is down by -16.1% against the previous month. Over the period under review, the import price recorded a noticeable shrinkage. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in April 2023 an increase of 24% against the previous month. The import price peaked at $6,051 per ton in May 2023; however, from June 2023 to December 2023, import prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.
Prices varied noticeably by the country of origin: the country with the highest price was Belgium ($9,158 per ton), while the price for Turkey ($2,081 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From December 2022 to December 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Belgium (+5.0%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.
