The average import price for cocoa; paste, wholly or partly defatted stood at $2,060 per ton in 2022, with an increase of 5.2% against the previous year. Overall, the import price, however, continues to indicate a deep reduction. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2021 when the average import price increased by 65%. Over the period under review, average import prices attained the peak figure at $3,407 per ton in 2013; however, from 2014 to 2022, import prices failed to regain momentum.
Average prices varied noticeably amongst the major supplying countries. In 2022, amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Bulgaria ($2,275 per ton), while the price for Cote d'Ivoire totaled $1,911 per ton.
From 2013 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Bulgaria (+1.4%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced a decline.

In 2022, the average export price for cocoa; paste, wholly or partly defatted amounted to $4,817 per ton, increasing by 2.4% against the previous year. Over the period from 2012 to 2022, it increased at an average annual rate of +1.3%. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2020 when the average export price increased by 24% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the average export prices hit record highs in 2022 and is expected to retain growth in years to come.
Average prices varied noticeably for the major overseas markets. In 2022, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Turkmenistan ($4,800 per ton), while the average price for exports to Uzbekistan totaled $4,240 per ton.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Turkmenistan (+3.1%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced a decline.

For the third consecutive year, Turkey recorded decline in supplies from abroad of cocoa; paste, wholly or partly defatted, which decreased by -59.6% to 264 tons in 2022. In general, imports recorded a precipitous decrease. The smallest decline of -40.4% was in 2020.
In value terms, imports of cocoa; paste, wholly or partly defatted dropped dramatically to $543K in 2022. Over the period under review, imports showed a precipitous slump. The smallest decline of -13.1% was in 2021.

As a result, the exports reached the peak of 95 tons. From 2021 to 2022, the growth of the exports of remained at a lower figure.
In value terms, exports of cocoa; paste, wholly or partly defatted skyrocketed to $8.5K in 2022. In general, exports, however, faced a dramatic contraction.
