The average chamotte or dinas earths export price stood at $274 per ton in June 2023, falling by -2.7% against the previous month. Over the last twelve-month period, it increased at an average monthly rate of +1.7%. The growth pace was the most rapid in October 2022 when the average export price increased by 9.3% m-o-m. The export price peaked at $282 per ton in May 2023, and then declined slightly in the following month.
Prices varied noticeably by the country of destination: the country with the highest price was Slovakia ($453 per ton), while the average price for exports to Austria ($191 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From June 2022 to June 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to the Netherlands (+2.4%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.

The average chamotte or dinas earths import price stood at $303 per ton in June 2023, falling by -7.8% against the previous month. In general, the import price recorded a mild slump. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in October 2022 when the average import price increased by 78% month-to-month. The import price peaked at $444 per ton in July 2022; however, from August 2022 to June 2023, import prices failed to regain momentum.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In June 2023, the country with the highest price was Luxembourg ($540 per ton), while the price for Austria ($46.0 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From June 2022 to June 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Germany (+6.1%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.
