Price for Cereals; Rye, Other than Seed in Lithuania (FOB) - 2023
The average export price for cereals; rye, other than seeds stood at $275 per ton in October 2023, jumping by 34% against the previous month. Over the period under review, the export price, however, saw a relatively flat trend pattern. Over the period under review, the average export prices attained the maximum at $374 per ton in January 2023; however, from February 2023 to October 2023, the export prices remained at a lower figure.
There were significant differences in the average prices for the major export markets. In October 2023, the country with the highest price was the UK ($361 per ton), while the average price for exports to Poland ($125 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From October 2022 to October 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Estonia (+11.9%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced mixed trend patterns.

In 2022, the average import price for cereals; rye, other than seeds amounted to $262 per ton, growing by 43% against the previous year. Overall, import price indicated a slight expansion from 2012 to 2022: its price increased at an average annual rate of +1.0% over the last decade. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, cereals; rye, other than seed import price increased by +56.1% against 2020 indices. As a result, import price attained the peak level and is likely to continue growth in the immediate term.
