Price for Cereal Flours; Other than of Wheat or Meslin in Belgium (CIF) - 2023

The average import price for cereal flours; other than of wheat or meslin stood at $793 per ton in October 2023, almost unchanged from the previous month. Over the period under review, the import price, however, recorded a relatively flat trend pattern. The growth pace was the most rapid in January 2023 when the average import price increased by 15% against the previous month. As a result, import price attained the peak level of $853 per ton. From February 2023 to October 2023, the average import prices failed to regain momentum.

There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In October 2023, the country with the highest price was Kosovo ($1,156 per ton), while the price for Cote d'Ivoire ($536 per ton) was amongst the lowest.

From October 2022 to October 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Sweden (+6.8%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.

In October 2023, the average export price for cereal flours; other than of wheat or meslin amounted to $1,120 per ton, rising by 42% against the previous month. Over the last twelve months, it increased at an average monthly rate of +4.2%. As a result, the export price attained the peak level and is likely to continue growth in the immediate term.

There were significant differences in the average prices for the major external markets. In October 2023, the country with the highest price was the United States ($1,447 per ton), while the average price for exports to Jordan ($799 per ton) was amongst the lowest.

From October 2022 to October 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Malaysia (+7.4%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.
