In December 2023, the average import price for cattle; live, other than pure-bred breeding animalses amounted to $1,189 per unit, remaining constant against the previous month. Overall, the import price, however, showed a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in February 2023 when the average import price increased by 10% month-to-month. The import price peaked at $1,457 per unit in April 2023; afterwards, it flattened through to December 2023.

Prices varied noticeably by the country of origin: the country with the highest price was Hungary ($2,370 per unit), while the price for Uruguay ($1,184 per unit) was amongst the lowest.
