Price for Carbon Electrode Not for Furnaces in China (FOB) - 2023
In June 2023, the average export price for carbon electrodes not for furnaces amounted to $836 per ton, falling by -15.4% against the previous month. Overall, the export price continues to indicate a perceptible decline. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in July 2022 when the average export price increased by 3.4% against the previous month. Over the period under review, the average export prices hit record highs at $1,344 per ton in September 2022; however, from October 2022 to June 2023, the export prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.
Average prices varied somewhat for the major external markets. In June 2023, the highest price was recorded for prices to Iceland ($999 per ton) and Norway ($982 per ton), while the average price for exports to Saudi Arabia ($690 per ton) and Malaysia ($714 per ton) were amongst the lowest.
From June 2022 to June 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Turkey (+0.4%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced a decline.

The average import price for carbon electrodes not for furnaces stood at $26,446 per ton in 2022, with a decrease of -15.2% against the previous year.
