The average books, brochures and leaflets import price stood at $11,592 per ton in 2022, approximately equating the previous year. Overall, the import price saw a mild downturn. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2018 when the average import price increased by 34%. Over the period under review, average import prices reached the peak figure at $14,039 per ton in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2022, import prices remained at a lower figure.

Prices varied noticeably by country of origin: amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was the United States ($16,323 per ton), while the price for Malaysia ($5,105 per ton) was amongst the lowest.

From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by China (+4.5%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.

The export price peaked at $9,691 per ton in 2019; however, from 2020 to 2022, the export prices failed to regain momentum.

Prices varied noticeably by country of destination: amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Japan ($10,620 per ton), while the average price for exports to Lao People's Democratic Republic ($2,588 per ton) was amongst the lowest.

From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Japan (+9.4%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.

In 2022, after three years of growth, there was significant decline in overseas shipments of books, brochures, leaflets and similar printed matter, when their volume decreased by -5% to 4.1K tons. Overall, total exports indicated a resilient expansion from 2019 to 2022: its volume increased at an average annual rate of +14.7% over the last three years. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, exports increased by +50.7% against 2019 indices. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2020 with an increase of 26% against the previous year.

In value terms, books, brochures and leaflets exports expanded notably to $20M in 2022. Over the period under review, exports continue to indicate a abrupt contraction.
