Price for Books, Brochures and Leaflets in Spain (FOB) - 2023
The average books, brochures and leaflets export price stood at $6,939 per ton in June 2023, with an increase of 15% against the previous month. Over the period from June 2022 to June 2023, it increased at an average monthly rate of +2.6%. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in July 2022 when the average export price increased by 20% m-o-m. The export price peaked in June 2023.
There were significant differences in the average prices for the major external markets. In June 2023, the country with the highest price was Argentina ($17,952 per ton), while the average price for exports to South Africa ($1,374 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From June 2022 to June 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to South Africa (+5.2%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.
Price for Books, Brochures and Leaflets in Spain (CIF) - 2023
In June 2023, the average books, brochures and leaflets import price amounted to $13,840 per ton, with an increase of 28% against the previous month. In general, import price indicated a temperate expansion from June 2022 to June 2023: its price increased at an average monthly rate of +4.4% over the last twelve months. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on June 2023 figures, books, brochures and leaflets import price increased by +53.0% against April 2023 indices. Over the period under review, average import prices attained the peak figure at $13,933 per ton in March 2023; however, from April 2023 to June 2023, import prices remained at a lower figure.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In June 2023, the country with the highest price was Poland ($30,484 per ton), while the price for Austria ($1,925 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From June 2022 to June 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by the Netherlands (+12.6%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.
Exports of Books, Brochures and Leaflets in Spain
For the third year in a row, Spain recorded decline in shipments abroad of books, brochures, leaflets and similar printed matter, which decreased by -8.4% to 82K tons in 2022. Over the period under review, exports showed a abrupt downturn. The smallest decline of -2.6% was in 2021.
In value terms, books, brochures and leaflets exports contracted to $399M in 2022. Overall, exports saw a abrupt decrease. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 with an increase of 15%.

Imports of Books, Brochures and Leaflets in Spain
In 2022, supplies from abroad of books, brochures, leaflets and similar printed matter was finally on the rise to reach 30K tons after two years of decline. Over the period under review, imports, however, saw a noticeable slump.
In value terms, books, brochures and leaflets imports declined to $311M in 2022. In general, imports, however, recorded a abrupt shrinkage. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2021 with an increase of 6% against the previous year.
