Price for Books, Brochures and Leaflets in Ireland (CIF) - 2023
In June 2023, the average books, brochures and leaflets import price amounted to $12,262 per ton, shrinking by -5% against the previous month. In general, import price indicated a modest increase from June 2022 to June 2023: its price increased at an average monthly rate of +1.6% over the last twelve months. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on June 2023 figures, books, brochures and leaflets import price increased by +10.1% against April 2023 indices. The growth pace was the most rapid in January 2023 an increase of 38% month-to-month. As a result, import price attained the peak level of $18,560 per ton. From February 2023 to June 2023, the average import prices remained at a somewhat lower figure.
Prices varied noticeably by the country of origin: the country with the highest price was Germany ($29,217 per ton), while the price for Malaysia ($1,781 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From June 2022 to June 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Germany (+7.6%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.

The average books, brochures and leaflets export price stood at $18,005 per ton in 2022, shrinking by -49.5% against the previous year. Overall, the export price, however, recorded a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 when the average export price increased by 295%. As a result, the export price attained the peak level of $35,637 per ton, and then fell significantly in the following year.
Prices varied noticeably by country of destination: amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was the United States ($144,725 per ton), while the average price for exports to the UK ($5,265 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to the United States (+18.0%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.
Imports of Books, Brochures and Leaflets in Ireland
In 2022, the amount of books, brochures, leaflets and similar printed matter imported into Ireland shrank notably to 14K tons, reducing by -71.9% on the year before. Overall, imports, however, posted a resilient increase. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 with an increase of 518%. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 when imports increased by 41% against the previous year. Over the period under review, imports attained the peak figure in 2022 and are expected to retain growth in the near future.
