Price for Books, Brochures and Leaflets in Azerbaijan (CIF) - 2023
In July 2023, the average books, brochures and leaflets import price amounted to $3,364 per ton, dropping by -33.8% against the previous month. Overall, the import price continues to indicate a pronounced slump. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in May 2023 an increase of 102% against the previous month. Over the period under review, average import prices hit record highs at $11,489 per ton in January 2023; however, from February 2023 to July 2023, import prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.
Prices varied noticeably by the country of origin: the country with the highest price was Russia ($8,371 per ton), while the price for Iran ($1,974 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From July 2022 to July 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Iran (+6.2%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced a decline.

The average books, brochures and leaflets export price stood at $2,251 per ton in 2022, shrinking by -36.3% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the export price, however, enjoyed modest growth. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2013 an increase of 191%. As a result, the export price attained the peak level of $5,825 per ton. From 2014 to 2022, the average export prices failed to regain momentum.
There were significant differences in the average prices for the major foreign markets. In 2022, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Turkmenistan ($12,537 per ton), while the average price for exports to the United Arab Emirates ($1,629 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Turkmenistan (+40.7%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.
Imports of Books, Brochures and Leaflets in Azerbaijan
In 2022, the amount of books, brochures, leaflets and similar printed matter imported into Azerbaijan skyrocketed to 669 tons, with an increase of 47% compared with the previous year's figure. Overall, imports enjoyed buoyant growth. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2021 when imports increased by 69% against the previous year. Imports peaked in 2022 and are likely to continue growth in the immediate term.
In value terms, books, brochures and leaflets imports soared to $3M in 2022. In general, imports saw a resilient increase. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2021 with an increase of 57% against the previous year.
