Price for Beauty, Make-Up and Skin Care Preparations in Indonesia (CIF) - 2022

The average import price for beauty, make-up and skin care preparations stood at $13,619 per ton in March 2022, shrinking by -3.4% against the previous month. Over the period under review, the import price showed a slight curtailment. The growth pace was the most rapid in December 2021 an increase of 34% against the previous month. Over the period under review, average import prices reached the peak figure at $17,546 per ton in June 2021; however, from July 2021 to March 2022, import prices remained at a lower figure.

There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In March 2022, the country with the highest price was the UK ($59,480 per ton), while the price for China ($5,613 per ton) was amongst the lowest.

From March 2021 to March 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by the UK (+9.0%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.

Price for Beauty, Make-Up and Skin Care Preparations in Indonesia (FOB) - 2022

The average export price for beauty, make-up and skin care preparations stood at $4,708 per ton in March 2022, reducing by -8.1% against the previous month. Over the period under review, the export price recorded a mild decrease. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in May 2021 an increase of 27% month-to-month. Over the period under review, the average export prices attained the peak figure at $7,311 per ton in June 2021; however, from July 2021 to March 2022, the export prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.

There were significant differences in the average prices for the major external markets. In March 2022, the country with the highest price was Japan ($6,766 per ton), while the average price for exports to the United Arab Emirates ($2,067 per ton) was amongst the lowest.

From March 2021 to March 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to the Philippines (+3.6%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.

Imports of Beauty, Make-Up and Skin Care Preparations in Indonesia

In 2022, the amount of beauty, make-up and skin care preparations imported into Indonesia skyrocketed to 19K tons, picking up by 19% compared with the year before. The total import volume increased at an average annual rate of +10.6% over the period from 2019 to 2022; however, the trend pattern indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded in certain years. As a result, imports attained the peak and are likely to continue growth in the immediate term.

In value terms, imports of beauty, make-up and skin care preparations reduced to $226M in 2022. Over the period under review, imports, however, showed a noticeable descent. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2021 when imports increased by 20% against the previous year.
