In December 2023, the average import price for articles of apparel and clothing accessories, of leather or of composition leather amounted to $38.9 per unit, increasing by 17% against the previous month. Over the period under review, the import price, however, recorded a relatively flat trend pattern. The growth pace was the most rapid in June 2023 an increase of 25% m-o-m. Over the period under review, average import prices reached the maximum at $40.2 per unit in December 2022; however, from January 2023 to December 2023, import prices remained at a lower figure.
Prices varied noticeably by the country of origin: the country with the highest price was Italy ($236 per unit), while the price for Pakistan ($12.3 per unit) was amongst the lowest.
From December 2022 to December 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Bangladesh (+25.5%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.
