In 2022, the average import price for apples, pears and quinces; freshes amounted to $456 per ton, declining by -24.3% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the import price saw a pronounced decline. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2020 an increase of 50% against the previous year. As a result, import price attained the peak level of $726 per ton. From 2021 to 2022, the average import prices remained at a somewhat lower figure.

There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In 2022, amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was the Netherlands ($1,040 per ton), while the price for Croatia ($200 per ton) was amongst the lowest.

From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Serbia (+5.4%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.

The export price peaked at $553 per ton in 2021, and then fell markedly in the following year.

There were significant differences in the average prices for the major foreign markets. In 2022, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Spain ($741 per ton), while the average price for exports to Germany ($142 per ton) was amongst the lowest.

From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Italy (+4.9%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.

In 2022, the amount of apples, pears and quinces; freshes imported into Slovenia skyrocketed to 30K tons, with an increase of 25% against the previous year's figure. In general, imports recorded a relatively flat trend pattern. As a result, imports reached the peak and are likely to continue growth in the immediate term.

In value terms, apples, pears and quinces; fresh imports dropped to $14M in 2022. Over the period under review, imports, however, recorded a slight contraction. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2020 with an increase of 18% against the previous year. As a result, imports reached the peak of $17M.
