In 2022, the average import price for apples, pears and quinces; freshes amounted to $924 per ton, which is down by -1.8% against the previous year. In general, import price indicated a prominent expansion from 2012 to 2022: its price increased at an average annual rate of +7.3% over the last decade. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, apples, pears and quinces; fresh import price increased by +13.9% against 2016 indices. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2014 an increase of 62% against the previous year. Over the period under review, average import prices reached the peak figure at $941 per ton in 2021, and then shrank in the following year.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In 2022, amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was China ($1,119 per ton), while the price for India ($364 per ton) was amongst the lowest.

The average export price for apples, pears and quinces; freshes stood at $747 per ton in 2022, with a decrease of -5.8% against the previous year. Over the period under review, export price indicated resilient growth from 2012 to 2022: its price increased at an average annual rate of +6.4% over the last decade. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2013 an increase of 115%. As a result, the export price attained the peak level of $865 per ton. From 2014 to 2022, the average export prices remained at a lower figure.
Prices varied noticeably by country of destination: amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Kuwait ($1,257 per ton), while the average price for exports to South Africa ($685 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Sweden (-0.6%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced a decline.
Imports of Apples, Pears and Quinces; Fresh in Bangladesh
In 2022, after three years of growth, there was decline in purchases abroad of apples, pears and quinces; freshes, when their volume decreased by -1.1% to 268K tons.
