In August 2023, the average import price for antibiotics; penicillins and their derivatives with a penicillanic acid structure; salts thereoves amounted to $41,304 per ton, with a decrease of -10.4% against the previous month. Over the period under review, the import price recorded a mild shrinkage. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in December 2022 when the average import price increased by 37% month-to-month. As a result, import price reached the peak level of $63,887 per ton. From January 2023 to August 2023, the average import prices remained at a lower figure.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In August 2023, the country with the highest price was Germany ($82,855 per ton), while the price for China ($30,360 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From November 2022 to August 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Germany (+12.4%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.

Average prices varied somewhat for the major export markets. In 2022, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Ukraine ($41,243 per ton), while the average price for exports to Russia ($27,705 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Ukraine (+1.7%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced a decline.
