The average import price for anise, badian, fennel and coriander stood at $2,992 per ton in 2022, with an increase of 56% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the import price, however, recorded a relatively flat trend pattern. Over the period under review, average import prices hit record highs at $3,024 per ton in 2012; afterwards, it flattened through to 2022.

There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In 2022, amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Vietnam ($5,349 per ton), while the price for India ($2,716 per ton) was amongst the lowest.

From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Vietnam (+8.0%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced mixed trend patterns.
