The average aluminium; tubes and pipes import price stood at $5,198 per ton in July 2023, shrinking by -13.8% against the previous month. Overall, the import price recorded a slight contraction. The growth pace was the most rapid in June 2023 an increase of 14% against the previous month. The import price peaked at $6,314 per ton in July 2022; however, from August 2022 to July 2023, import prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.

Prices varied noticeably by the country of origin: the country with the highest price was Italy ($13,121 per ton), while the price for China ($4,553 per ton) was amongst the lowest.

From July 2022 to July 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Italy (+3.2%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced mixed trend patterns.

The average aluminium; tubes and pipes export price stood at $4,884 per ton in July 2023, surging by 3% against the previous month. Overall, the export price, however, showed a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in October 2022 when the average export price increased by 12% against the previous month. Over the period under review, the average export prices attained the peak figure at $6,616 per ton in November 2022; however, from December 2022 to July 2023, the export prices remained at a lower figure.

Prices varied noticeably by the country of destination: the country with the highest price was Togo ($8,579 per ton), while the average price for exports to Spain ($3,204 per ton) was amongst the lowest.

From July 2022 to July 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Switzerland (+4.4%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.

Imports of Aluminium; Tubes and Pipes in India

In 2022, imports of aluminium; tubes and pipeses into India rose remarkably to 13K tons, increasing by 7.2% on the previous year. Overall, total imports indicated prominent growth from 2019 to 2022: its volume increased at an average annual rate of +12.2% over the last three years. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, imports increased by +47.2% against 2020 indices. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 with an increase of 37% against the previous year. Imports peaked in 2022 and are expected to retain growth in the immediate term.

In value terms, aluminium; tubes and pipes imports skyrocketed to $78M in 2022. In general, imports enjoyed a significant increase. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2021 when imports increased by 53%. Over the period under review, imports hit record highs in 2022 and are expected to retain growth in the immediate term.

The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, exports increased by +81.8% against 2020 indices. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2021 with an increase of 83%. As a result, the exports reached the peak of 3.1K tons, leveling off in the following year.

In value terms, aluminium; tubes and pipes exports surged to $17M in 2022. In general, exports, however, showed significant growth. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2021 when exports increased by 71%. The exports peaked in 2022 and are likely to continue growth in the near future.
