In November 2023, the average import price for aluminium; plates, sheets and strip, thickness exceeding 0.2mm, alloys, rectangular (including square)s amounted to $4,511 per ton, with a decrease of -10.5% against the previous month. Overall, the import price continues to indicate a relatively flat trend pattern. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in July 2023 an increase of 36% month-to-month. The import price peaked at $5,042 per ton in October 2023, and then reduced in the following month.
As there is only one major supplying country, the average price level is determined by prices for Norway.
From December 2022 to November 2023, the rate of growth in terms of prices for Germany amounted to +3.7% per month.

The average export price for aluminium; plates, sheets and strip, thickness exceeding 0.2mm, alloys, rectangular (including square)s stood at $4,634 per ton in November 2023, shrinking by -3.6% against the previous month. Over the period under review, the export price recorded a mild decline. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in August 2023 when the average export price increased by 18% m-o-m. The export price peaked at $5,363 per ton in January 2023; however, from February 2023 to November 2023, the export prices remained at a lower figure.
Average prices varied somewhat for the major overseas markets. In November 2023, the highest price was recorded for prices to Faroe Islands ($6,312 per ton) and the UK ($5,318 per ton), while the average price for exports to Iceland ($4,788 per ton) and Norway ($5,124 per ton) were amongst the lowest.
From December 2022 to November 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Spain (+0.4%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced a decline.
