The average import price for aluminium oxide (including artificial corundum); aluminium hydroxide stood at $1,380 per ton in September 2023, declining by -6.4% against the previous month. Overall, the import price continues to indicate a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in August 2023 an increase of 23% month-to-month. Over the period under review, average import prices reached the maximum at $1,487 per ton in June 2023; however, from July 2023 to September 2023, import prices remained at a lower figure.
Average prices varied somewhat amongst the major supplying countries. In September 2023, the highest price was recorded for prices from Spain ($1,500 per ton) and Germany ($1,500 per ton), while the price for the Netherlands ($1,036 per ton) and France ($1,179 per ton) were amongst the lowest.
From September 2022 to September 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by France (+2.1%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.
